FAQs about Couples Counseling

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes! Feel free to send me an email to schedule. Consultations are done with both partners present and typically last 15-20 minutes, either over the phone or via Zoom.

Do you offer in-person meetings?

I am able to offer both in-person and online sessions. Both partners do not need to be in the same place if we do secure Zoom meetings. Both partners need to be located in one of the states where I am licensed (NH, MA, ME, VT, & OK).

What is your fee?

The fee for a 55–60 minute session is $200 and can be paid by credit card, cash, or check—whichever works best for you.

Do you accept insurance?

No. If you’re coming to therapy to work on your relationship, chances are you’re looking for support that doesn’t involve blaming one person or fitting your experience into a medical diagnosis. But that’s exactly what insurance companies usually require—they’ll only cover therapy if one person is diagnosed with a mental health condition.

That just doesn’t sit right with me. I believe relationships are complex and dynamic, and the work we do together shouldn’t be about labeling anyone. By not using insurance, I’m able to keep our work focused on what really matters: helping you communicate better, feel more connected, and navigate challenges in a way that’s supportive and respectful of everyone involved. Superbills for out-of-network benefits require a diagnosis so I don't provide them for couples therapy.

Do you offer evening and weekend hours? How long are sessions?

I do offer evening sessions for couples. Sessions are 55-60 minutes. With advanced planning, we can do a 1.5 hour session or 2 hour session. I do not typically offer weekend sessions.

How often do we meet?

The frequency of sessions is flexible and tailored to your needs. We’ll work together to decide what schedule works best for you both, whether it’s weekly, biweekly, or another option. For couples, therapy typically ranges from 5 to 25 sessions, depending on your unique needs and goals. We’ll regularly assess progress and adjust the plan as needed to ensure you're both getting the support you need.

What if my partner can’t make it but I can?

If one partner can’t attend, we’ll work together to find a time that works for everyone. It's important for us to meet as a group to maintain trust, transparency, and open communication in the relationship.
