This group will not meet in July. Starting in August 2019, we will meet the first Friday of each month.
Mindfulness Group is being led by a seasoned meditation teacher who happens to be trans. This group takes place in a smallish room. There will be comfortable chairs for everyone to sit on, though if you'd prefer to bring a cushion, you can feel free to sit on the carpeted floor. After a short introduction and instruction, we will have a quiet meditation for approximately 20 minutes. Afterwards, there will be a brief dharma talk (inspiration/wisdom) followed by discussion. Support Group Facilitators:
- Jameson currently works for Southern New Hampshire University. He has a B.A. in English Education and has experience working with at-risk youth through substitute teaching and NH Job Corps. He came out as transgender in his teens, and has been an active part of the queer community for several years. Jameson is pursuing his M.A. in English and Creative writing. He enjoys the great outdoors and leading social groups like this one.
- Harvey is a LICSW with years of experience working with youth. He joins Jameson to lead the Teens Group.
- The group for Parents/Guardians is facilitated by Sarah Lynn. Sarah Lynn has a Bachelors in Social Work and works for a local health care facility. She is a parent of a transgender teen and does an amazing job sharing knowledge, experiences and support.
