The trademark at Deb Horton Counseling is openness, compassion and acceptance of all lifestyles, backgrounds and beliefs. I begin by making a person-to-person connection, noting your strengths and skills as well as your stressors. Counseling can help improve relationships, manage grief or stress and anxiety, reach career and personal goals, and improve outlook and mood.
In addition to working with those that are in the LGBTQ community, I work with any folx with a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, grief, advanced illness, and life changes. I see mostly adults and some teenagers, usually age 17+. I'm an affirming LGBTQ ally with advanced education and experience in transgender and nonbinary health and clinical issues. You do not have to identify as LGBTQ to reach out and work with me.
I have a Bachelor's in Social Work from the University of New Hampshire and a Master's in Social Work from Fordham Graduate School of Social Services in New York City.
My pronouns are she/her/hers.
